Very excited to show you this wonderful photo and review that I just received from a recent bride whose wedding I was the bridal makeup artist for that took place at the Universal Sheraton in Los Angeles, CA. The bride Alexandra is a very wonderful person whom I really enjoyed spending time with.
I first met Alexandra after she reached out to me after having found me online on The Knot (side note: as a bride-to-be I absolutely love The Knot). After a few discussions about her dream wedding makeup look, Alexandra decided we should meet and do a makeup trial which, I cannot stress enough, is something EVERY bride should do with their makeup artist.
For this particular wedding I did the bride’s makeup only (usually I do both the bride’s hair and makeup). I also had the opportunity to all of the bridesmaid’s makeup, which was also a lot of fun as they were sweet, outgoing people.
How I Created Alexandra’s Bridal Makeup Look
For this bridal look I Went very classically soft on the eyes, shading a little depth into the crease with a matte light brown focusing on the black winged-out eyeliner using my favorite (Laura Mercier Black Gel Liner) and individual lashes by Ardell.
What I Love About This Bridal Photo
After having worked thousands of weddings, I have seen tens of thousands (if not more) bridal photos- and this one really stands out for me. Not only is Alexandra beautiful, but her bridal veil really adds an extra something to the photo that you don’t normally see in the typical bridal photo. Her makeup looks flawless, her eyes look amazing and she just looks happy. I love how close-up the photo is because it shows off Alexandra’s beauty and the simplicity of her look.
