Hey Everyone,

I was the hair and makeup artist for a Victoria’s Secret inspired boudoir photo shoot the other day. In case you didn’t know, a boudoir photo shoot is a photo shoot that is glamorous, sexy, private, provocative and a little bit naughty.  They are so much fun! This sexy shoot was done by a lady for a Christmas gift for her husband and  I worked on this shoot with the awesome team at Artistic Images.

Everyone will have their own opinion about what their ideal makeup and hair look for a boudoir photo shoot is, but our model wanted to have a Victoria’s Secret inspired shoot- to me this meant smokey eyes, thick long lashes, big voluminous curls and glowing,  flawless looking skin.

How We Achieved The Victoria’s Secret Look For This Boudoir Photo Shoot

For makeup we used a light brown matte to create the smokey eye , popping the eyes with black eyeliner and black lashes to thicken and give more length to the look of her lashes. For the model’s lips we created a soft nude glossy look, and used bronzer to contour her cheek bones and a bit of  a brightening blush called Pale Pink by Bobbie Brown on the apples of her cheeks.

For her hair we wanted straight silky looking hair with some soft curls. To achieve this, I  used a 1 1/2″ curling iron throughout the ends of the hair. To get that sexy, voluminous curls look we used hot rollers to the model’s  hair . When trying to achieve this hair look make sure to use a strong holding hair spray. Let the hair rollers cool for a minimum of 20-30 min. For ladies who have fine hair 20 mins would be plenty of time . For those of you who have longer thicker hair use smaller sections when rolling your hair in the rollers and let cool for 30 mins. and VA VA VUM- gorgeous big curls!

Photos to come VERY soon. In the meantime, feel free to checkout our makeup artist gallery.

Stay Gorgeous!
